i heard that the famous ny parade of india will be on aug 15, 2004. it's a good parade but it's more of a youth thing. people clubbing, drinking, being rude, dirty looks etc. i see more people getting turned off by it. even you see real nice floats and dances, but it's more of a westernized thing than cultural. i wished more people wore cultural attires and supported more of it. i dont know...it's disappointing to see many indian things being westernized these days....

All I GOT TO SAY IS THAT, MANY YOUTHS SHOULD LOOK AT THEMSELVES AND THE FUTURE....... YOU SHOULD ALSO LOOK AT THE FACT THAT WHEN YOU GO THROUGH CRISES OR TROUBLE SO DOES YOUR FAMILY..... I KNOW THEY ARE MANY WHO ARE RESPONSIBLE BUT THIS IS FOR PEOPLE WHO ARENT' FOLLOWING THE RIGHT DIRECTION....AND ALSO FOR PEOPLE TO BE AWARE OF AND REALIZE THAT ANY PERSON CAN FALL INTO THAT TRAP. INSTEAD OF ACTING GANGSTER OR SOMETHING, REALIZE THERE'S MORE TO YOU...LIKE TALENTS AND SUCH... & THAT YOU SHOULD HELP PEOPLE IN THE WORLD...EVEN BY SMALL DEEDS....DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME MAKING A TOTAL FOOL OUT OF YOURSELF...MAKE A BETTER MAN OR WOMAN OF YOURSELF....DONT WASTE YOUR TIME ALL THE TIME PARTYING AND ALL....THERE'S SO MUCH PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT NEED HELP...HELP PEOPLE IN NEED....LIFE IS TOO SHORT....FOR THE PARENTS BE AWARE OF REALITY AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT....

As an adult if you see something that your children are doing that are harmful or bad please don't hestiate to talk to them. Help them in any way you can. Just don't ignore the situation and let time pass before it's too late. You may not be able to do anything afterwards. Don't take that risk.

i see many girls & boys drink even 1's that are around my age. it 's nothing new these days when drinking is so glamorized.
sometimes i wonder if drinkers who are irresponsible drink cause every1 is doing it.....
if most girls&boys in hs & college didn't drink and made fun of those who do and talk trash about them
would the drinker, then would they drinkhuhhuhhuhhuh
most wouldn't want others think of them un-cool or have labels

this message to our asian indians

we talk about how "Americans" get involved in taking drugs like weed, cigs, cocaine, drinking excessive, dating, foul talk, don't wear decent clothes, all that.
you wanted to know something, we Asians Indians do have that lifestyle today in America. We face that too!!

So instead of complaining and comparing other groups that are the "American Society". Look into some people in our Society, and how bad that looks. Look into these desi party web sites. We have the same problem too! Checking into hotels, finding beer bottles that could kill a person, sharing a bed, etc.....

Look into Our Indian Society and What's going On,
You don't need to look elsewhere for all those activities. You dont need to look at "Americans" . Today some desi people are doing what 's mentioned. And you know what it's increasing and becoming more destructive. Are you going to wait for someone to knock on your door or you going to do something.

It's about more people opening their eyes and start talking, take some action

for any families interested sending their child in detox and mental help, please contact your local hospital.
the staff will help you and your family.
this is my advice to you.

look into a telephone directory to contact hotlines and local hospital. don't let them drink and drive
seek help, dont wait time
you may not be able to turn back if you're late

you parents have it all wrong...

the kids that went crazy during college were those that came from the most stern households. if you just relax a little and it wouldn't be such a big deal when they get to make their own decisions.

i've mostly made good decisions, but it could have turned out poorly because I came from a household of Indian aprents who didn't drink.

If you young generation were parents yourself would you allow your son or daughter to drink, try cystal meth, speed, and other substances?

You have to realise that how lucky you are to have parents that dont drink because the people that I know who drink, smoke, and such destroy their familes.
Parents who drink or use drugs excessively abuse verbally and physically their familes.
Ask a child that comes from a troubled home and I bet they probably wished to have parents that are clean and stable.
There are many children that get involved in drugs through their parents examples.

Be glad to have stable families and clean environment.

Drugs and Drinks are always fatal because a person doesnt know what path in life it would take you.
Some drink responsible and dont have any troubles if your lucky, while some it leads to a death sentence down the road.
Drinks and Drugs can spin your life out of control. It can take your life.

Senerios:
If the high school teens didnt drink excessively at the house party than they wouldnt have died in the car crash along with the innocent victims in the other car.

If the woman didnt stop smoking in her teens, she wouldnt have to say good bye to her daughter is he 40's by Lung Cancer.

Drugs and Drinks can control you and you never know what path is will take you later on.
