If you are not already registered with National Marrow Donor Program, take few minutes of your time to register. All it takes is to give a swab from your mouth and fill out a form.

Who knows you might be lucky like Po onam and get an oppertunity to save someone's life. We shall have bone marrow staff collecting sample in Holiday Inn lobby for few hours every day.

As many of you know I am committed to recruit desi families for bone marrow registry. As I briefly mentioned during our meeting I recently learned that Po onam Desai from Michigan, who registered for bone marrow donation at YJA 2000 in Los Angeles, CA. Recently she matched and proceeded to give a gift of life. YJA 2000 was my very first bone marrow in Jain community.

Recently, Harish Kapoor of Houston also got a similar opportunity. Harish apparently was registered at a bone marrow drive at Independence celebration by India Association of Houston back in 2000 (another drive organized by me) Po onam
was quick to support Harish and help him make the right choice. Now someone in the eastern USA is having a functioning bone marrow thanks to Harish.
