Women and girls are under so much pressure by media and social standards. I mean look at tv or media constantly showing makeup, clothes, diet pills, and skinny women. There is so much pressure to be beauty, thin, and everything. These days even Indian girls are pressured by westernern and bollywood. I think girls should be themselves rather than trying to be like everyone else. I mean when a 12 year old sees a 20 something year old Indian girl wearing makeup, having a boyfriend, binge drink and all it shows the wrong message to young girls. How do we expect even young girls to feel good about themselves or discover their identity in a healthy way when there are so much pressure created by people and media?
I think more women should set good examples for all women and girls.

Media puts images of models and celebrities whose pictures in magazines are air brushed, altered like skin is flawless because the computer fixes up the image to make the people beautiful, make them skinny, change eye color, etc. Media puts people images of people who look beautiful but people forget that media alters images. instead women and girls constantly try to make ourselves "fit" to that media standard by buying beauty products, clothes and all. Beauty products like hair color and makeup are making millions of dollars because media makes women and girls feel like we aren't beautiful and use our vulnerabilties to make money. Also tv stars like Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and all are poor role models. Alot of tv people are poor role models, therefore it's important for people to try to be good example for others to follow especially for young children. Children need positive people to look up too and help them develop good image about themselves instead of what media or society wants from people. So I encourage parents, bros and sisters, and all to be positive role models. Especially in our world now, we need positive people.

Unfortunately Bollywood or Indian Media are not that good or turning into more like the western media. We got Hindi Soap Operas that shows familes and friends in worse of worse cases. Themes like a married man gets a house maid pregnant or some disturbing behaviors. These soaps makes concepts of families in hatred and totally sinful behaviors. There are no good stories of love and respect showing continously rather disturbing themes. Bollywood is a version into Hollywood. Like the name doesn't imply. Instead of speaking in Hindi at Bollywood shows English is spoken which gets non-Indians wondering what happened to our native language? Bollywood actresses and celebrities are no different in dressing habits than our western actresses. Western wear is so common. Unfortunately I feel sorry for India much as it's becoming booming, but the lifestyle they will pick up are going to be negative. Many girls of India will diet, buy these beauty products, drink, have sex, and all. As if problems like divorce and family issues aren't happening now and Mumbai have turned into America.
Its sad that much as I love that we are advancing and booming in economy but i worry about our traditions and religions whether they would florish strong or not. it seems that we american or abroad desi's are experiencing problems of life. I feel sorry for our native people. western companies and all are going for money. money to make women feel they are not good in looks therefore they need to buy aishwarya rai's lipstick. drinking will kick in among our youth like it has here where binge drinking and partying and lying seems to be going on too much. As much as these desi women and girls drink and get wasted and hang with men. I wonder what kind of people they will be in the future. I wouldnt be surprsied many desi women going into rehab for drugs and drinking issues and file for divorce. i just think as much as people are educated and making money. nothing is compared to good values. having good values helps you in life.
what i see for india is same like in usa. a big money making area and familes and people with tons of issues.
that's what i forsee.

There needs to be more discussions and such that help women, teens, and young girls. It seems even younger girls like 10 are getting worried about body images and getting influenced by television and what they see in other women. There needs to be more positive role models. I mean teens who see older girls on Facebook for example with drinks in their hands, going to bars, wearing attire that would be considered sexy or revealing, see pictures of women having boyfriends, does give so much expectations and fears for these young girls because they get the wrong message in order to be happy and be accepted in society, you need to have all these things that the older girls or women have. You'll be shocked how girls like 10 take pictures similar poses and such like older women so they can fit in with what the world tells them they ought to be which is sexy.

I think we need more positive role models stepping up to show women, teens, and girls how women should be, which is being yourself and expressing your talents, wisdom, and such.
