What can I do to make me stand out. I am currently a Junior at UF (University of Florida). My gpa for math and science is a 3.0 and overall is also a 3.0. University of South Florida in Tampa is where I want to attend med school.

I am currently involved in

AMSA
MAPS
SH Kids (students helping kids)
Volunteering at Shands
Will be Volunteering at a kids camp this summer

I work for a child daycare to.


I will be taking my MCATS in spring.

Once you do your self assessment start working on improving yourself in every category possible. Work for an MCAT of 30. With your low GPA you need to compensate by high MCAT.

Consider taking post bacc courses to improve your GPA. That means make a five to six year plan and do medically related, research or altruistic activities that will make you stand out.
